Colin Hay and I

I am waiting for my real life to begin. I totally get it, Colin Hay. I do.
I feel like I'm always waiting for my real life to begin. Meanwhile, I allow my real life to pass me by.
I want so many things from life, so much so that I forget what kind of life this is. In the process of sanctification, we live. In a broken and deprave world, we dwell. Surviving for the promise, we are.
I expect too many things from this life. I store up treasures here. Retail therapy and profile pictures can only fulfill you so much. Even the purest of what this life has to offer, family, romance, soul mates, ministry, is still quite in need of repair.
In this foolishness, I lose my need for a savior. I forget what lies ahead and turn, only to be turned into a pillar of salt.
For freedom, I have been set free from this yoke of slavery.
However, incessantly I bind myself again.
