Pit Stop

Weddings are funny.
You plan and plan and invite and plan and execute and done.
In less than 24 hours, you are done.
All that you labored over, cried over, prayed over, giggled over, and lost sleep over has past.
It's really a pit stop in this journey.
Everything is a pit stop really.
Weddings, births, deaths, big decisions... pit stops.
We plan for them. We're changed by them. We're scarred by them. Pit stops.
This year has been an endless parade of pit stops unwanted and ones cherished.
The sovereignty of God is a mystery and these breaks in the pavement are simply a part of it.
As believers, we are promised a eternity as described in Revelations 21...

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

I am ready for this day. No more weeping. No hurt or pain. All things new.
I am thankful to God that until this day arrives, he has blessed me with a partner to continue the path with.  He shows me glimpses of this future reality through the life of my soulmate everyday.
I suppose there are more values to these pit stops than what meets the eye.
